After a fun few weeks on the road with Hey Rosetta! I'm happy to be home again for a break. It was a very eventful time in the USA, playing in Las Vegas, Hollywood, San Diego and San Francisco! I'm not used to spending so many hours in a van full of boys everyday but we had a blast. The highlight for me was playing at the NHL Awards after-party at the Palms in Vegas. Spying on celebrities is always fun, and we even got to walk the red carpet in our jeans and t-shirts (and leggings and flip flops!).
Coming home to play Canada Day on Parliament Hill was a trek full of delays and flat tires and a sleepless night, but we made it - sort of. It was great to spend a few days in Ottawa relaxing, visiting old friends and catching up on sleep. I even hit the gym...once!
I've been back on PEI for the past couple of weeks relaxing and spending time with relatives visiting from Vancouver and Scotland. I've been enjoying lots of beach days, sailing trips, bonfires and movies!
And speaking of bonfires, it's time to eat smores! Until next time,
-Kate

Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute
Hello!
I've been in Toronto for the past five days attending a two-week program with Tafelmusik, learning all about Baroque music. It's a lot to take in but I'm having a blast and learning a lot! With about 100 participants from all over the world, everyone gets to participate in masterclasses, have lessons, play in orchestras and chamber ensembles, and attend lectures and workshops. It feels as if I've been here for a year already but it's only day 4! The people are great and there's always something exciting to do. Hopefully it stops raining soon!
